Associate/Full Professor in International Health

The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University invites applications from senior scholars to join our new Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health (IDGH) with programs in wildlife and conservation medicine, infectious diseases and international health. The new faculty appointee will be expected to strengthen and lead the international health program.

We are seeking an academic leader with a proven track record in scholarship, funded research and program development. Experience in one or more of the following disciplines is essential: disease prevention and control at the human-animal interface, epidemiology, public health, conservation medicine, and ecosystem health and modeling. An individual with accomplishments as reflected by peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals, and sustained research funded by government agencies and/or national and international foundations is sought. The selected candidate must possess excellent communication skills; have experience in and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring veterinary, MS and PhD graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty. The position requires an individual who will promote active citizenship, and a transdisciplinary team approach to problem solving through scientific research, teaching and service.

Responsibilities include conducting research and/or program development projects in the US and elsewhere, in collaboration with the Tufts University community and national and international host-country institutions; identifying field-based experiential learning opportunities for students and funding for those projects; teaching core and elective courses; supervising, training and mentoring students; serving on faculty committees; and contributing to community service initiatives. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to expanding existing programs in public health and conservation medicine.

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a benefits package.
