Development Guidelines
The Tufts Library Web Development Team will create a directory on the main
veterinary site for any officially constituted department/group. Each
department/group will select one individual to act as a contact person for their
area. This contact person will be responsible for gathering, creating, and
maintaining their information, as well as updating the information on a regular basis and
answering questions related to their web pages.
Information published on the Tufts University site may not be used in any
manner prohibited by law or disallowed by licenses, contracts, copyrights, copyrighted
material, or Tufts University regulations. The individual departments/groups are
responsible for what they publish.
Web pages will be published upon review and approval from the web
development team. Careful attention should be given to quality, accuracy, style and
graphic identity.
Publishing Procedures:
- Prepare a written outline with your site's goals and objectives for the web development
team.
- Design you pages using basic HTML or a program such as FrontPage.
- Provide the web development team a working copy on disk, or a URL link to a test site
for review.
- The web development team will review your site within 1-2 weeks (most times much faster)
and send written comments or instructions for publishing.
Technical Assistance: Currently there is limited technical assistance available.
The web development team will assist with graphics and hyperlinks to the main site,
or with basic HTML coding problems. In most cases, you will need to refer to your
HTML editor manual.
