Extensor Postural Thrust Reaction
The patient is supported by the thorax. Pelvic limbs are lowered to the floor. A normal patient will move caudally in a walking motion. As the patient’s limbs are lowered the animal extends the limbs, anticipating the contact. (This is a vestibular reflex.)
