CN XII (Hypoglossal Nerve)

• Function
  This nerve is the motor innervation to the tongue.
• Assessment
  The tongue is observed for normal appearance, strength, and ability to protrude.

We have now finished assessing the cranial nerves and will move on to assess spinal reflexes.
