Triceps Reflex

Anatomy and Physiology
This reflex uses the triceps brachii muscle, an extensor and the major weight bearing muscle of the forelimb. It is innervated by the radial nerve. The origin of this reflex is C7-T1 of the spinal cord.
Assessment
The muscle is struck just proximal to the olecranon. The expected response is a slight extension of the elbow.
