Anatomy and Physiology
The sensory component of this reflex is from the pudendal nerve
originating in the S1-S2(3) spinal segment. Anal sphincter contraction
is mediated through the motor nerve of the pudendal. Tail flexion
is mediated through the caudal nerve. |

Assessment
The perineum is lightly stimulated. The stimulus should not be painful.
The expected response is a contraction of the anal sphincter and
flexion of the tail. |
