Our DVM students benefit from course offerings and training in pain medicine, and it shows!
• 8 hours of core course work on pain physiology, assessment, and management
• students are trained to manage perioperative, trauma, and cancer pain while on clinical rotations
• seniors can take a practical pain week elective, building skills in assessment and treatment of pain
• they may elect to take a week long intensive course in advanced pain management
• students are encouraged to take continuing education courses offered at TCSVM
• creative application of knowledge during outside rotations at zoos, private practices and shelters
• student organizations present lectures on various pain topics
• students can choose to participate in research projects in pain medicine
