What if I am unable to bring my pet to the Veterinary School for evaluation?

A hands-on evaluation of your pet by a pain specialist is ideal. At the current time, there are relatively few veterinarians who specialize in pain medicine in the U.S. If you live too far from us, or have difficulty with travel, you should realize that your own veterinarian can contact us for a detailed discussion of the case and we will devise a diagnostic and treatment plan by fax or internet. Such “consultations” may still involve our contacting you so that we can get a detailed history, and if your pet needs advanced diagnostics or surgery, you may be able to find a nearby specialty hospital for that. We must do this through the auspices of your veterinarian, as we are not permitted to make diagnoses or to advise treatment for any patient we have not examined.
