What is One Health?
ÔThe
One Health concept is a worldwide strategy for expanding interdisciplinary
collaborations and communications in all aspects of health care for humans and
animals. The synergism achieved will advance health care for the 21st century
and beyond by accelerating biomedical research discoveries, enhancing public
health efficacy, expeditiously expanding the scientific knowledge base, and
improving medical education and clinical care. When properly implemented, it
will help protect and save untold millions of lives in our present and future
generations.Õ www.onehealthinitiative.com
What is the One Health Initiative?
ÔThe
One Health Initiative, a movement to forge co-equal, all inclusive
collaborations between physicians, veterinarians, and other scientific-health
related disciplines, has been endorsed by various major medical organizations
and health agencies, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the
American Medical Association, the American Society of Tropical Medicine and
Hygiene, the American Society for Microbiology and the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC). Additionally, more than 400 prominent scientists,
physicians and veterinarians worldwide have endorsed the initiative.Õ
