  • If you pick up a fresh bird carcass - please freeze it and/or bring it to the closest facility with a freezer:

  • If you find a live injured bird, be careful - pick up a bird only with adequate protection (gloves, pillow case for covering bird)! It is probably most advisable to contact local wildlife rehabilitators near you:
    • Cape Cod - report stranded marine mammals to the Cape Cod Stranding Network Hotline at 508-743-9548; report sea turtles to Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary at 508-349-2615
    • All of MA - report stranded marine mammals and sea turtles to the New England Aquarium at 617-973-5247

     

  • If you find oil on or near the beach contact:
    • The National Response Center at 1-800-424-8802
    • The state hotline: M.A. Environmental Law Enforcement at 1-800-632-8075
