Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University offers both individual and family health insurance coverage through the Tufts Associated Health Plan (TAHP), an independent health maintenance organization. TAHP provides comprehensive medical services including all preventative care and major medical insurance coverage. TAHP coverage runs from September 1 through August 31 of each year.

Students who wish to subscribe to an alternative and comparably adequate health insurance program may apply for waiver of the TAHP coverage. Waiver forms are available at the Student Advisory and Health Administration Office and must be submitted by August 31 each year for which waiver is sought.

The Student Advisory and Health Administration Office, where waiver forms are processed, also maintains immunization records and arranges counseling appointments on campus. The Student Dental Health Service will provide routine preventative dental care. The fee charged to cover these services is mandatory for all students.
