Word of Welcome

Welcome to the first 2009 edition of the newsletter. As ever, your co-operation is essential to the success of the newsletter. Do let the appropriate editor know of any new publications, websites or calls for papers that might be of interest to readers.

As part of the changes that the team is making this year, we are delighted to announce that Sivan Hirsch-Hoefler and Paul Staniland will be joining our new Steering Group (see profiles section). The role of the Steering Group is to support the co-convenors David Art and Elizabeth Carter in further developing the work of the ECPR-SG on Extremism and Democracy. These changes also mean that whilst Matthew Goodwin will continue to contribute as part of the Steering Group, he will be stepping down as one of our joint book reviews editors. The team would like to take this opportunity to express its appreciation of Matthew’s excellent work as reviews editor.

As the ECPR-SG on Extremism and Democracy enters its tenth anniversary year, the team would like to say many thanks for all your support!
