e-Extreme

Electronic Newsletter of the ECPR-SG on Extremism & Democracy
Volume 3, No. 3, Autumn 2002

Managing Editor: Cas Mudde
Editors: Michael Dartnell & Ami Pedahzur

Word of Welcome

This is the first issue of e-Extreme under the editorship of the new editorial
team. We want to thank Roger Eatwell once again for all his hard work!
Please take some time to read the new distribution of tasks and
competences among the editorial team. In the last years most (if not all)
information has been directed at Cas Mudde, but we have now
'decentralised' various tasks. By approaching the right people, you will
enable us to process your information quicker and more efficiently.

Michael Dartnell is responsible for the sections "Interesting Resources"
and "Websites and –pages". If you know of any websites that you would
like to see reviewed, or of other resources (e.g. prizes, fellowships, etc.)
that you think are of interest to our members, please contact Michael directly.

Ami Pedahzur is responsible for the sections "Conferences/Calls for
Papers" and "Publications Alert". If you organise a conference, know of a
conference, or edit a book/special issue on a topic of interest to our group,
please contact Ami directly. The same goes for recent publications in the
field of extremism and democracy (including chapters in more general
books, online publications, etc.).

Cas Mudde functions as managing editor, and is thus responsible for all
general matters relating to e-Extreme, as well as for the sections "Profiles",
"Calls for Help and Cooperation", "Background Articles", and "Book
Notes and Reviews". If you would like your profile to be included in e-
Extreme
, need help or cooperation in your research, or want to write a
background article on a topic of interest to our members, please contact
Cas.

We hope that you will enjoy reading this issue of e-Extreme, and that it will
prove useful to your work. As our group continues to grow and diversify
(we are now at 575 members!), we are more and more stretched to cover all
topics systematically and accurately. It is therefore of great importance that
we are assisted in finding the necessary information – most notably by
members who work outside of the topics of the extreme right in Europe
and terrorism. This way you will ensure that e-Extreme continues to
provide a useful service to all its members!
