This is the first issue of the fourth year of e-Extreme. Today, the newsletter goes out to
the more than 600 members of the ECPR Standing Group on Extremism & Democracy
throughout the world. But, as becomes increasingly clear, e-Extreme is also read by many
people outside of the group: (undergraduate and graduate) students, academics,
journalists, policy makers, etc.
The same applies to our website in general, and our list of members in particular. At
several times the membership list has been used to select potential participants for
conferences, both academic and non-academic. I would therefore like to urge you to keep
me informed about changes in address (snail and email) or research interests. This is also
important because I try to keep the membership information as accurate as possible. If
your email bounces for a period of half a year or longer, you will be deleted from the
membership list. (Obviously, you are always welcome to re-join later!)
Finally, I would like to ask once again for (more) cooperation. The interests of our
members have diversified over the years and it is impossible for us to find all relevant
information on all topics of interest to our members. Please send any interesting
information on conferences, special issues, grants, websites, publications, etc. to the
relevant editor. Deadlines for submission of this (and other) information are:
1 February for the Spring issue
1 May for the Summer issue
1 September for the Autumn issue
1 December for the Winter issue.
