Word of Welcome

Dear Friends,

I hope that you had a wonderful summer. In the last edition of the newsletter we announced our decision to replace the Editorial Board next summer and we asked for your cooperation. We are grateful for your wonderful responses and were really happy to receive a large number of applications for the different editorial responsibilities. Jennifer Holmes, who will take on the task of being the Managing Editor, has established an outstanding editorial team. In the next few months we will work closely together and by next summer the new team will assume all of the responsibilities for the newsletter. I would like to wish Jennifer, William and Nigel the best of luck and to thank all of you for your cooperation. I will let Jennifer introduce the new team.
Have a great academic year,

Ami

In the last edition, we posted a call for applications for a new editorial team. Cas Mudde and Ami Pedahzur have been essential to the success of e-Extreme, but decided the time was right for new leadership.  After receiving inquiries from many qualified scholars, and balancing areas of expertise with demographics and geography, we have assembled an exemplary team.  It is my pleasure to introduce the new editors:

Managing Editor:    Jennifer S. Holmes of the University of Texas at Dallas
Co-editor:                William M. Downs of Georgia State
Co-editor:                Nigel Copsey of the University of Teesside

We will be maintaining the existing sections: Book Reviews & Book Notes; Conferences & Call for Papers; Fellowships & Grant Opportunities; Publications Alert; Links & Online Resources. Additionally, we may add an occasional section with short notes of controversies in the field.  As always, we are open to suggestions from our members.

Jennifer
