Missy Meo was named MVP and Anne Montesano was named MIP. Tracy Trager
learned the game in late January and finished with 3 wins at #7-8!
This year's edition was led by four seniors at the top and finished
6-15 and #21 nationally. All new to the game were #5, 7, 8, 9, and further
down. At the end of January, the team was 1-11. The team finished strong
with a .500 record in February. That could be expected of an inexperienced
team that gains momentum into the Howe Cup. At the Howe Cup, Tufts
defeated William Smith 9-0, but lost a heartbreaker to Connecticut College
(which made it to the finals of Division 3) before winning the back draw
with wins over Mt. Holyoke 6-3 and Colgate 6-3. The last win was tremendous
as Colgate earlier defeated archrival Wellesley who beat us twice this
season. Heather Elias led the team in wins at 12-6 playing #2-4. Missy
Meo leads the team at #1 with a 10-11 record and finished her career with
37 wins placing her #5 on the all-time list. Both players learned the game
at Tufts. Zaina Al-Awadi, in her first year having just learned squash
in September, moved all the way up to #5 and finished 11 10! Liz Dwyer
finished her career at 25-16 playing mostly #2-3.
Relaxing (and training!) in Freeport, Grand Bahama, with the men's
team, January 13-20, 1999
