Current Research
I’m
currently working on research projects dealing with practicing K-8 teachers and
engineering.
I
hope to explore teachers’ approaches to open-ended engineering design problems
through a workshop I am teaching. In the workshop, teachers will engage in
creative design challenges using ROBOLAB and LEGO Mindstorms
construction kits. The teachers will be videotaped so that their methods of
approaching the problems can be analyzed.
Additionally,
I hope to gain an understanding of teachers’ comfort with basic engineering
concepts through surveys, observations, and interviews.
