What is the university’s position on the Boycott Divest Sanction (BDS) movement?

What is the university’s view on academic freedom for faculty members?
We believe the principle of academic freedom is essential to the pursuit of knowledge and learning. As such, our faculty are given wide leeway to conduct research and express their views without interference. Within the classroom, faculty should refrain from comments on the war when it does not directly pertain to the pedagogical material for that specific class guided by the Statement of Principles from the American Association of University Professors (AAUP).
What is the university’s relationship with the Tufts Daily?
The Tufts Daily is an independent student newspaper with their own editorial policies.
Would someone or some group calling for the genocide of Jews be in violation of university policy?
Yes. Explicit calls for violence, let alone genocide, against any student or any group have no place on the Tufts campus and are a violation of policy.
