Friedman School Receives $10 Million for Student Scholarships

Accelerating Nutrition Student Success

January 30, 2025

Dear Tufts community members,

We are excited to announce that anonymous donors have pledged $10 million to the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy for student scholarships. This tremendous philanthropy will provide students with new avenues for graduate studies in nutrition and transform the Friedman School into a more accessible and inclusive institution. This is the second largest gift in the school’s history, the largest being its $20 million naming gift.

As part of their pledge, the donors are issuing a Matching Challenge. They will donate $9 million to an endowed scholarship if other donors join them by giving an additional $9 million to Friedman School financial aid. The donors’ Matching Challenge provides a wonderful way for others to amplify their philanthropy at the Friedman School and help develop future leaders in the nutrition field.

We are deeply grateful to our anonymous donors for this significant investment in financial aid. We invite you to learn more on Tufts Now.

Best wishes,
