Resources to Help Navigate the 2024 Election
September 17, 2024
Dear Tufts community members,
As we approach the official start of the fall season, we are also looking ahead to the 2024 election. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, and today is National Voter Registration Day!
Tufts University has a longstanding commitment to civic participation, and this election season offers many opportunities to get involved with the electoral process and to support causes and candidates you care about.
Visit Tisch College’s website for resources devoted to the 2024 election, including tools and information to help you navigate the voting process and learn more about this year’s elections. There, you can get involved with JumboVote, a nonpartisan student-run organization at Tufts, sign up for personalized text reminders from TurboVote, and more.
Voting is an important way to make your voice heard, but it is not the only way; there are many ways to take action beyond casting a ballot. This year, as always, we encourage you to have conversations, engage with friends and family on key issues, volunteer with campaigns or voter registration efforts, serve as a poll worker, and take advantage of the many election-related events and discussions happening across our campuses, including via the Tisch College of Civic Life.
We are grateful to the many teams and individuals across the university, and in our host communities, whose hard work—and research—helps ensure that we are equipped and empowered to participate in our shared democracy.
Most of all, thank you to our students. Thank you for preparing to vote and for helping each other to participate. Even those students who are not eligible to vote are engaging friends, volunteering, and talking about issues that matter to them. Together you embody the civic ethos of Tufts University. Thank you for creating a culture at Tufts that doesn’t just recognize the importance of civic participation but celebrates it.
Best wishes,
